McLean, VALMI is seeking applicants for an environmental safety engineer position in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC region. LMI is a consultancy dedicated to improving the business of government, drawing from deep expertise in advanced analytics, digital services, logistics, and management advisory services. Established as a private, not-for-profit organization in 1961, LMI is a trusted third party to federal civilian and defense agencies, free of commercial and political bias. This position will be providing direct client support within various client locations in the region.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting Government facilities
- Draft policy statements, standard operating procedures, fact sheets, newsletter articles and other communications regarding current and future environmental regulations affecting the Government
- Develop and/or review applicable environmental compliance and management plans
- Review National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation and provide Facilities' project managers advice on NEPA applicability
- Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections/audits/evaluations as directed by the Government to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and Presidential Executive Orders
- Update and monitor environmental regulatory permits held by the Government
- Develop and conduct environmental compliance training for Government employees and contractors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
- Two (2) years of related experience
