SPACE MODELING & SIMULATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER - 14012
Anywhere, USA; Anywhere, USALMI is seeking a skilled Space Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer supporting our Colorado Springs, CO operations. This role supports space control customers with modeling, simulation, and analysis requirements, as well as provides technical knowledge to support studies, algorithm development, and other technical products and efforts as tasked. Occasional travel is expected. This role can be supported remotely.

Responsibilities
- Support Government customers in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of satellite system development and acquisition studies that advance space related customer-defined space architectures.
- Serve as senior technical advisor to Government customer assisting in developing and reviewing annual organizational technical work plans and director’s intent.
- Operate as an individual contributor and collaborate with a team of high-performing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Operations Research Analysts, and software developers that directly support the Government through lifecycle systems engineering and management processes to deliver critical space capabilities.
- Provide oversight of acquisitions, technologies, and studies with specific focus on the system engineering processes to ensure end-to-end system closure and satisfaction of mission needs/requirements.
- Organize and lead efforts across multiple simultaneous studies and/or tasked efforts.
- Frequently interact and develop productive relationships with program managers, SETAs, FFRDCs, and external stakeholders.
- Review deliverables to ensure content, technical accuracy, and sufficiency of design details to meet program requirements.
- Support risk management processes and methods for identifying, assessing, and adjudicating program risk; Conduct analysis to identify program risk areas and recommend/implement mitigation approaches.
- Develop documents and briefings to communicate work status, briefs to government and industry as required.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 10+ years of professional experience or master's degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of professional experience.
- Significant background in systems engineering, satellite systems & subsystems, and program acquisition.
- Space domain experience and understanding in multiple areas of astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, rendezvous and proximity operations; satellite communications; missile warning/missile defense; space-based positioning, navigation and timing; remote sensing; environmental monitoring; command and control; battle management; multi-domain effects; and space domain awareness.
- Able to work collaboratively across disciplines in a fast paced, dynamic, and small team environment.
- Strong organization and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Active TS/SCI required. US Citizenship required.
Desired
- Master's degree in systems engineering or technical discipline.
- Understanding of U.S. Government acquisition lifecycle.
